IF GOD EXIST, WHAT WOULD BE THE DESCRIPTION OR IDEA OF GOD?
In ancient history till today, God in many religions and cultures is known as the ‘SUPREME BEING’, one who is in control of everything and all-knowing. However some believe that God can be manipulated, that is why we have things like Feng Shui.
In today’s post-modern thinking, God would be whatever of what ‘ONE PERCEIVES IT TO BE’. He can be recognized as the God of the West with blonde hair or He can be recognized as the God of the East where the ancient literatures and cultures clearly portrays God.
I believe that God is SUPREME and not easily manipulated. God is in control of everything and He allows certain situations to happen that is always within His control. He is not boxed up in an idea of men because His thoughts and ways far exceeds our human minds.

ReplyDeleteThe available words of our language are often inadequate to thoroughly describe God. We can describe Him through His attributes but even our understanding of these attributes are limited and often marred by our wisdom and understanding. The term 'Father in heaven' may be perceived by someone from a background of an abusive father to have negative overtones. Even so, His attributes are made known to us through His Word, the life of Jesus, the indwelling of His Holy Spirit and glory of His creation. Romans 1:20 says that "...since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse". Staying close to the Word given to us is a way to ensure we do not misconstrue the entirety of God's identity. He is loving, merciful, gracious and forgiving yet righteous, sovereign, just and holy. The 'idea' of God cannot possibly be determined merely by the corrupt and frivolous perception of men. God can be described by the revealed attributes of Jesus and throughout biblical history in His Word. He is the Creator, the Author of Life and is Above All.
ReplyDeleteGod is supreme and not to be boxed up. For a non christian, their world view is God is supreme and they can boxed their gods according to how they percieved. It is still supreme to them though theological not correct.

Agree with you, except for the part "God is not not easily manipulated". He can never be manipulated by human being.
ReplyDeleteOur idea of God will always be 'boxed' due to our fallen nature...Thanks be to God who doesn't reject us, but gently and patiently shows us the way back to His side..
